My Mission

"Shyness is the worst disease.." said one of my relatives many years ago.

Knowing my family, I'm sure he was speaking more about Anxiety than shyness.

If you have ever experienced Social Anxiety which is worse than shyness then you know how debilatating it can be. In my case social anxiety and a belief that I never quite measured up to what society expected made a major impact on all areas of my life.

I developed flight/fright responses in any situation I felt to be out of my control - like my first trips on the school bus at age 6 far away from home on a country road.

We each have our different causes but the seriousness of irrational fear in social or embarrasing situations has ramifications that can reach decades into our lives.  It can rob us of the pleasure of not only friendships but can even affect what careers we choose.

For me the irrational fear gave way to self fulfilling prophesy.

I worried that others likely sensed my fear which made me withdraw even more.

My mission is to help everyone to realize they are just as good and worthy as the next person.  That it is okay to want something so long as it benefits yourself and others. It's okay to be you.

You're okay.  You have something to offer...don't hide you

If you need help for anxiety, depression or any mental struggles then get help.  Don't give up until you find the help you need. It can start with your doctor, a friend or a local clinic.
